White Funeral Home Walker – G. Audrey Williams, 90 years old, of rural Walker, Iowa, died on Friday, November 30, 2012, at her home following a long illness. She was born on August 11, 1922, in Springville, Iowa, the daughter of George Allen and Lora Ethel (Larson) Gunnison. She graduated from high school in Walker, Iowa, and then continued her education at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the University of Nebraska extension service in Omaha, Nebraska. On August 22, 1943, she and Lynn Morgan Williams were married at the Christian Church in Marion, Iowa. They farmed north of Walker, Iowa. Mrs. Williams was also the office manager of the Iowa State University Extension office in Cedar Rapids for 9 and a half years. Then she worked in the Loan Department at First Trust and Savings in Cedar Rapids for 3 years. She was a member of the Walker Bible Church in Walker, the American Legion Auxiliary, American Business Women, and Pleiades Sorority. She was also active with the 4-H organization. Mrs. Williams was proud of her children and grandchildren. She liked to socialize with her friends over coffee. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lynn, 1 son, James Williams of Walker, Iowa, 1 daughter, Jeanne (Keith) Dudley of Troy Mills, Iowa, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Norman Gunnison. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Walker Bible Church in Walker, Iowa, with Pastor Casey Reinkoester officiating. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd, at the White Funeral Home in Independence. |
