Dunkerton – Dorothy I. Ortner, 85 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo.  She was born August 30, 1927, in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Theodore S. Weber and Anna Catherine (Wagner) Weber.  On November 4, 1953, she was united in marriage to John Francis Ortner at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers, collecting cook books and especially her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Francis Church – Barclay.

Mrs. Ortner is survived by her husband, John of Dunkerton; four daughters, Sharon (Michael) Woodward of Marion, Monica Ortner of Waterloo, Veronica (Michael) Eldridge of Dunkerton, Rose (Norman “Buddy”) Scarborough of Dunkerton; two sons, Leo Ortner of Dunkerton, Jerome (Lynn) Ortner of Waterloo; her nephew whom she raised, LaVern (Jane) Weber of Raymond, 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one brother, Ralph (Helen) Weber of Raymond.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Lloyd Weber and five sisters, Annamae and Eileen Weber, Florence Wirtz, Evelyn Reuter, and Marguerite.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, November 8, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials will be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
