Jesup – Marian L. Rozmus, 92 years old of Ft. Wayne, IN, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at St. Ann’s Home in Ft. Wayne.  She was born April 2, 1920, in Barclay Township, Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of William Kelley and Jessie (Baker) Kelley.  On November 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Alfred John Kurtz in Jesup, IA.  He preceded her in death on February 26, 1953.  On October 15, 1960, she married Joseph John Rozmus in Jesup.  He preceded her in death on August 19, 1991.  Marian worked at the Mental Health Institute, Independence, IA, as a cook in the Dietary Department.  She retired in April 1986.  A longtime Jesup resident, she had served on the city council from 1967 – 1972, and served as Mayor of Jesup in 1973.  In 2006 she moved to Mallard Pointe Retirement Home in Cedar Falls and in 2009 to St. Anne Home in Ft. Wayne, IN.  She was a former member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Mrs. Rozmus is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Brassell of Ft. Wayne, IN, Sharon Howard of Waterloo, IA; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Leo, Francis and John Kelly; and one sister Maxine McGrath.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. – Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Fr. Scott F. Boone as celebrant.  Music will be by Monica Bengston, organist and the St. Athanasius Choir.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.  Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic School, Jesup, IA and to Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, IA.
