White Funeral Home Jesup – Aulden E. Tegtmeier, 69 years old of Jesup, IA died Monday October 8, 2012, at Allen Memorial Hospital from an apparent heart attack. He was born February 15, 1943, at Waucoma, IA, the son of Walter Fred Tegtmeier and Ellen Margerite (Winter) Tegtmeier. He graduated from Sumner High School and then served in the US Air Force from 1963 – 1967. On August 14, 1965, he was united in marriage to Harriet Jane Knudson at Hope Lutheran Church, Westgate, IA. They moved to Oelwein in 1967 and then in 1972 they moved to Jesup when Aulden began working at John Deere in Waterloo where he worked on the assembly line. He retired from Deere & Co in 2001. He was a member of UAW Local 838 and Cross Roads Assembly of God Church, both in Waterloo and Ross Reid American Legion Post #9 in Oelwein. Mr. Tegtmeier is survived by his wife Harriet of Jesup; two sons, Walter “Wally” (Andrea) Tegtmeier of Oelwein, James (Malina) Tegtmeier of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter, Lisa (Brock) Staley of Cedar Rapids, IA; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Lou (Doug) Buckendahl of Kalama, WA, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gordon Tegtmeier. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. – Friday, October 12, 2012, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with burial at Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, IA, with Military Rites conducted by Ross Reid American Legion Post #9, Oelwein, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed to Veterans Park, Sumner, IA and to other American Legion efforts. White Funeral Home of Jesup, IA is in charge of arrangements. |
