Jesup - Adeline K. Vogel, 96 years old and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, IA, of natural causes.  She was born April 29, 1916, in Black Hawk County, Iowa the daughter of Martin Holbach and Barbara (Kettman) Holbach.  On October 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Francis Clement Vogel in Gilbertville, IA.  They farmed together at various locations in Buchanan County for 46 years and moved to town in 1979.  Francis preceded her in death in 1997.  Addie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Vogel is survived by two daughters, Karen (Loy) McLaughlin of Independence, Diane (Richard) Youngblut of Jesup; four sons, Gary (Doris) Vogel of Dubuque, Donald (Diane) Vogel of Peoria, AZ, James (Kathy) Vogel of Waterloo, Larry (Linda) Vogel of Jesup; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and a son in law Dean Wienands of Arizona City, AZ.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Marlene Wienands; one sister, Agatha Casey; one brother, Louis Holbach; one great grandson, Ryan Huffman and one son in law, Lewis Nabholz.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am – Saturday, September 22, 2012, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA with Fr. Scott Boone as celebrant.  Burial will be at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup, IA.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church.  Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius School in Jesup.
