White Funeral Home Gilbertville – Clayton William Michael Johnstone, 16 years old of Gilbertville, IA, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident near Jesup. He was born July 23, 1996 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Kelly Ann (McCarthy) Johnstone. He began elementary education in the Vinton – Shellsburg School District and later attended Jesup Community Schools in Jesup, where he was currently a member of the Junior Class. Clayton was the type of person who would do anything for another person to make their life better. He worked several part time jobs and enjoyed wood working. The outdoors, hunting and fishing were among his favorite past times and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Clayton is survived by his mother, Kelly Johnstone of Gilbertville, five sisters, Carmon (Michael) Halligan of Brandon; Amy (Dale) Weber of LaPorte City, Kelsey Johnstone, Baylee Johnstone and Emma Johnstone all at home in Gilbertville; also his maternal grandparents, James L. and Joy C. McCarthy of Bentonville, AR. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, IA, with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 24th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
