White Funeral Home Jesup – Mary E. VanNevele, 75 years old of Littleton, IA died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. She was born June 4, 1937, at Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Emil Neuman and Nancy Jane (Dudley) Neuman. She attended West High School in Waterloo. On October 3, 1954, she was united in marriage to Oliver Hippen at Nashua, IA. They divorced in 1965, then on November 23, 1971, she married Alvan VanNevele in Independence, IA. They divorced in 1979. Mary worked as a Home Health Aid. She was a former member of the Central Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Waterloo. Mary is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Cecil Clayton) Casillas of Littleton, Jane (Robert) Arthur of Littleton; one son, Joel (Victoria) VanNevele of Littleton; three step sons, Donald VanNevele of VA, Duane VanNevele of Texas, Danny VanNevele of Independence; one step daughter, Mellanie Groetken of Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; 10 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; two brothers, John Neuman and James (Patricia) Neuman of Waterloo; one step brother, Ed (Gloria) Lenius of Mason City, 1 step sister in law, Barbara Graham of Trinity Center, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy, Nancy Jane Hippen and Daniel Hippen; one sister, Dorothy Mueller; one brother, Gerald “Joe” Neuman; one step daughter, Laura VanNevele; and one son in law, Ricky Casillas. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with Richard Mueller officiating. Casket Bearers will be Nick Casillas, Justin Casillas, Robert Arthur, Jason Ackerman, Cecil Clayton and Robert Bergman. Burial will be at the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, IA. Visitation will be 4 pm - 7 pm, Tuesday, September 4th, at the White Funeral in Jesup, Iowa. |
