White Funeral Home Jesup – Marjie Mae Ernst, 89 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, August 24, 2012, at the West Village Care Center in Independence, IA of natural causes. She was born December 17, 1922, at Cresco, IA, the daughter of Arthur Woellstein and Catherine (Brando) Woellstein. She graduated from Cresco High School with the class of 1941. On October 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Hubert Otto Ernst in Cresco. Following WWII and after farming near Cresco for a few years they moved to Waterloo where Hubert worked at Rath Packing and Marjie worked as a sales clerk. She enjoyed this and spent 8 years in the fashion department at Sears. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup. Mrs. Ernst is survived by two daughters, Pamela Clark of Minneapolis, MN, and Marlys (Dan) Federspiel of Jesup, IA; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert on January 31, 2008; one sister, Earline Baker and two stillborn sons, Jason Lee Earnst and Hubert Jay Ernst. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday, August 27, 2012, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Dawn Pederson officiating. Music will be by Shirley Bergman, organist and Todd Rohlfsen, soloist. Casket Bearers will be Jamie, Cliff, Danny, Mitch, Chelsey and Kaylea Federspiel. Burial will be in New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco, IA at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Monday at the church. White Funeral Home of Jeusp, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. |
