FAIRBANK – Jack D. Venz, 56, years old, of Fairbank, Iowa, died Wednesday April 18, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics after a short illness. He was born March 5, 1956, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Lester Wilbur Venz and Dona Mae (Moulds) Venz. He graduated from Wapsie Valley High School, Fairbank, IA and then attended heavy equipment operator training in Indiana. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving an associate degree in computer technology. On September 7, 1985, he was united in marriage to Theresa Ann Allard in Dearborn, MI. After moving to Iowa in 1994, Jack became employed at Omega Cabinets in Waterloo as a maintenance technician. He has worked for Omega the past 17 years. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, guns, country music, wet willies and mushroom hunting.
Mr. Venz is survived by his wife, Theresa Venz of Fairbank, one son, Lester Venz of Fairbank; one daughter, Kaylea Venz and friend Chris Serfling of Waterloo; his mother, Dona Venz and friend Charles Miller of Fairbank, one brother, Steven (Jerry Lea) Venz of Tuttle, OK; one sister, Lesona (John) Walker of Hazleton, IA; one aunt, Doris Adams of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death in 1992.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the White Funeral Home in Jesup, IA, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, at the funeral home, where there will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service.
