Jesup –Helena E. Huck, 107 years old of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, IA, and formerly of rural Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Western Home’s Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls.  She was born September 29, 1904, in Fox township of Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of    Wilhelm    Huck and Wilhelmina (Holtz) Huck.  She lived in the rural Jesup area most of her life.  She was caregiver for her parents, worked as a seamstress, and later worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for many years.  She maintained her own home until 2002 and moved to the Western Home at the age of 98.  Helena was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jesup.

Helena is survived by two nieces, Elinore Gjovig of Cascade, CO and Normagene Maltas of Salida, CO; two great nieces, Cheryl (Ken) Eigsti and Linda Maltas;  one great nephew, Martin (Kelley) Maltas; two great great nieces, Arika (Kirk) Banghart, Bayley Maltas; one great great nephew, Andy Ross; one great great great niece, Kalister Banghart and one great great great nephew Kuper Banghart.  In addition to her parents, two brothers, Herbert Huck and Elmer Huck, and one sister, Elsa Tunks preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Roy Berquist officiating.  Music will be by Mrs. Cheryll Schaefer, organist and Nancy Eckholm as soloist.  Casket Bearers will be John Pieters, Ben Riensche, Roland Riensche, Rick Lompe, Orville Orth, Larry Baldwin and Richard Schaefer.  Burial will be at Zion Lutheran – Jubilee Cemetery, rural LaPorte City, IA.  Following the burial a reception will be held at Grace Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
