Jesup - Darold Wayne “Wally” Wallace, 84 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home. He was born October 28, 1927, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Elmer Wallace and Mae (Folz) Wallace. On November 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Norma Jene (Haven) Mullin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Wally was proud to have worked as a Journeyman Lineman for Iowa Public Service Company, now MidAmerican Energy. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union. Wally and Norma have made their home in Jesup for many years where they have been members of the First Presbyterian Church and he served as an Elder and Deacon. His devotion and caring for Norma, his wife of 43 years, could be seen in his gentleness and caring nature. He especially enjoyed the grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Norma of Jesup, IA; one step-daughter, Georgia Jene “Patsy” (Jerry) Svien of New Brighton, MN; one step daughter-in-law, Kristy Tennyson Mullin of Herculaneum, MO; four grandchildren, Julie (Dennis) Sample, Scott Svien, Jamie (Pam) Mullin, Natasha Mullin; and three great grandchildren, Megan Sample, Riley Mullin and Harley Almingdinger and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald Wallace and Claude Wallace and one step-son, Gary Mullin.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Kristy Parker officiating. Annette Zuck will be the organist and Nancy Eckholm, soloist. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls, IA. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
