Raymond – Donald “Lee” Dudley, 84 years old of Raymond, IA, died early Monday, January 02, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA. He was born June 24, 1927, at Center Point, IA, the son of John “Clifford” Dudley and Violet “Faye” (Elliott) Dudley. At the age of eleven he moved with his family to Troy Mills, IA, where he graduated from high school in 1944. Lee served in the US Navy during WWII. On February 7, 1953, He was united in marriage to Dorothy Elizabeth Fischels in Waterloo, IA. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond and worked as a carpenter before retirement.
Lee is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Raymond, IA; two sons, Michael (Brenda) Dudley of Gilbertville, IA, Anthony “Tony” (Nancy) Dudley of Elk Run Heights, IA; one daughter, Lou Ann (Steve) Brown of LaPorte City, IA; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter and two brothers, Robert Elliot of Aurora, CO, and Jack (Jan) Dudley of Eldridge, IA. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Frank, Virgil and Carlton Dudley and one sister, Nancy Jacobs, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, January 5, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Raymond, IA, with Fr. Henry P. Huber as celebrant. Casket Bearers will be Mike Dudley, Tony Dudley, Joel Dudley, Nick Dudley, Jared Dudley and Justin Dudley. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
