Gilbertville – Ronald Joseph Frost, 75 years old of Gilbertville, IA and formerly of Raymond, IA died Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the La Porte City Nursing & Rehab Center, La Porte City, IA following a lengthy illness.  He was born April 14, 1936, in Black Hawk County, IA, the son of Jacob Frost and Elizabeth (Wirtz) Frost.  On September 17, 1960, he was united in marriage to Wilma Marie Schmidt in Raymond, IA.  Ron owned and operated Frost TV Sales and Repair in Raymond for many years before retirement.  He had served in the US Army and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond.

Ron is survived by his wife, Wilma Frost of Gilbertville, IA; five daughters, Lori Frost of North Liberty, IA, Kimberly (Dean) Fischels of Elk Run Heights, IA, Deborah (Matt) Schultz of Waterloo, IA; Julie (Brian) Wilson of Hutchinson, KS, (who died from cancer and joined her father in Heaven on Friday, December 23, 2011); Michelle Stroh of Gilbertville, IA; one son, Gregory J. Frost of Dysart, IA; eight grandchildren, Sherry Hornung, Adam Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Jeremy Fischels, Joshua Fischels, Miranda Riechmann, Lauren Frost and Kayci Wilson; one great granddaughter, Klara Hornung; one brother, Paul J. (Luette) Frost of Eugene, OR; one sister, Bernice Tomkins of Raymond, IA.  He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Allen Frost; two brothers, Edmund J. Frost and James M. Frost; and one sister, Lucille A. Frost.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA, with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Raymond, IA.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 26th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. 

The family will direct memorials to charities.
