Independence – Katherine S. “Kathy” Luloff, 65 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born on April 12, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of John Dillon and Almeda Delsey (Wilson) Glenn. She graduated from high school in Jesup, Iowa, with the class of 1964, and then attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo. On September 9, 1972, she and LeRoy Wayne “Ike” Luloff were married in Littleton, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Luloff was an L.P.N. at Peoples Memorial Hospital in Independence until she retired in 1986. She was also the owner and operator of Ike’s Tavern in Winthrop, Iowa from 1988 until 1996. She spent a great deal of time playing cards (usually 500) and dominos.
Mrs. Luloff is survived by 2 sons, Jerry (Janet) Luloff and Glenn Luloff, both of Independence, Iowa; 1 grandson, Christopher Luloff; 2 sisters, Julia (Felix) Butters of Independence, Iowa, and Shelia (Roy) Payne of Quasqueton, Iowa; and 1 brother, Robert (Judy) Glenn of Bettendorf, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Her cremated remains will be placed in the Cremation Garden at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd, at the funeral home.
A Memorial Fund has been established.
