Jesup – Kelly R. Schubert, 51 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, November 18, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA. He was born May 22, 1960, at Marshalltown, IA, the son of Robert William Schubert and Ruth Lucille (Wilson) Schubert. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1979. He then attended Culver Stockton College at Canton, MO, and Christ Unlimited Bible Institute in Kansas City, MO. On November 24, 1984, he was united in marriage to Julie Ardelle Ferrin in Marshalltown, IA. Kelly was employed at Harmony House Health Care Center in Waterloo, IA as Program Supervisor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was currently serving as Chief of the Jesup Ambulance Service. He was EMT-1 certified. Kelly enjoyed serving in the community of Jesup. He was active in Jesup Farmers Day Melodramas, Jesup Booster Club, J-Star Boosters. He served as a church trustee and was a member of the church choir. Kelly was also a regular at the Jesup Gym and enjoyed his time there.
Mr. Schubert is survived by his wife, Julie of Jesup, IA; two sons, Benjamin Schubert and Christopher Schubert both of Jesup, IA; his parents, Robert & Ruth Schubert, Sr. of Marshalltown, IA; two sisters, Cindy (Harold) Collins of Colorado Springs, CO, Bonnie (Roger) Engelkes of Grundy Center, IA; one brother, Robert (Holly) Schubert, Jr. of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. – Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Lynn Gardner officiating. Music will be by Dawn Quackenbush, organist and Nancy Eckholm soloist. Casket Bearers will be Leonard Harting, Jacob Spiegel, Chris Cass, Rex Reinhart, Cody Loeb, David R. Bishop, Dave Trower and Michael D. Joblinske. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. – Tuesday at Chapel Hill Cemetery, southwest of Gladbrook, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
