Independence – Ronald Reinhart Meskimen, 50 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born on December 2, 1960, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Carl Dale and Mildred Irene (Schultz) Meskimen. He graduated from the River Hills School in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Ron was a Chicago Cubs fan, an Iowa Hawkeye fan, and a Chicago Bulls fan. He also liked to dance and watch WWE wrestling.
Ron is survived by 2 brothers, Lawrence (Peggy) Meskimen of Cape Coral, Florida, and Glen Meskimen of Independence, Iowa, and 3 sisters, Margaret (Martin) Smith of Urbandale, Iowa, Charlotte (Jack) Jones of Independence, Iowa, Arlene (Gary) Eilers of Waterloo, Iowa, and his faithful companion, Perky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Dr. David A. Larson officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bob Richard and Judith A. Moehlis. Casket Bearers will be Kevin Jones, Tim Smith, Dean McKee, Vern McKee, Wint Barth, and Al Cole. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
Friends may call for visitation after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20th, at the White Funeral Home.
