Independence – Ronald William Chandler, 80 years old, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, Iowa. He was born on July 5, 1931, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Jasper and Erma Rose (Snyder) Chandler. He attended the Buchanan County country schools. Mr. Chandler farmed with his parents. He also enjoyed bowling.
Mr. Chandler is survived by one sister, Patricia Colton of Marion, Iowa, 1 sister-in-law, Kathie Chandler of Watertown, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Marcia Petcavage and Phyllis Yearous, and 1 brother, Michael Chandler.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Bob Solon officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. until service time on Monday. His cremated remains will be buried in Wilson Cemetery in Independence at a later date.
