Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. – Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with Fr. Doug Loecke as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2026, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 4:00 p.m., and a Parish Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com Betty was born August 27, 1932, in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Peter William Schares and Mary Catherine Schares. Following her educational years she began working at Rath Packing in Waterloo, IA. On April 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Earldean Erwin Joblinske in Waterloo. Over the years Betty worked for several area businesses including Corn Blossom Foods and the Mental Health Institute in Independence. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, an occasional visit to the area casinos, volunteering for Cedar Valley Hospice and at Camp Courageous of Iowa in Monticello, IA. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church and The Catholic Daughters of America in Jesup. Betty is survived by four sons, Jeff (Kim) Joblinske of Jesup, Kevin (Tori) Joblinske of Independence, IA, Pat (Sandy) Joblinske of Jesup, Mike (Shawn) Joblinske of Jesup; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Margo Schares of Denver, CO. In addition to her husband Earldean who died June 8, 1986, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Karla Cornwell; four brothers, Cleo, Cletus, Melvin and LaVern Schares; and five sisters, Mildred Schmit, Magdalen Frost, Teresa Schares, Rosemary Circus and Esther Weber.
