Tim was born December 17, 1966, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Ronald Edwin and Sarah Katherine “Kathy” (Chesmore) Holst. He attended school in Independence and graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1985. He joined the United States Army National Guard and quickly decided to fully enlist with the United States Air Force. Tim was stationed in Germany and was a member of the U.S. Military Police. On June 28, 1999, he was married to the former Shiloe Jane (Hopper) Simons in Rowley. They later divorced. Tim was a jack of all trades. He worked as a welder, mechanic, and truck driver over the years. He worked for Transco Rail Services in Oelwein, Iowa, Rescar in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Cattle Drive Xpress in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Tim loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He had the gift of gab, which allowed him to become friends with many. Tim enjoyed getting to know people from all walks of life. He liked his coffee and had a love for animals. His dogs were part of the family, and he loved spending time training them on the farm. Tim is survived by his four children, Cody Holst of Wells, Minnesota, Duane Holst, Jacey (Roger Bouck, Jr.) Holst, Audrianna Holst, all of Grand Ledge, Michigan; four grandchildren, Colter, Milanii, Roger Bouck III, and Violet; his parents, Ronald and Kathy Holst of Rowley; two sisters, Dana (Raymie) Mayher of Quasqueton, Susan (Dan) McCann of Oelwein; multiple nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Kim. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Sayre Holst in infancy.
