White Funeral Home
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with burial at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26th at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed to the Cedar Crest Cemetery Association and to Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City, IA. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com. Marjorie was born May 15, 1946, in Waterloo, the daughter of Melvin Herman Miller and Eva Rose (Seemann) Miller. She grew up on a farm southwest of Jesup where she loved to play and ride her horse Bambi, helping with chores before and after school. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church-Jubilee and was now a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, IA. Her first school was the country school at Jubilee, IA through 6th grade, then to Jesup Community School graduating with the class of 1964. After graduation she worked at Lane Insurance in Independence, IA. She then worked as a commercial insurance agent at PDCM Insurance in Waterloo, IA until retirement. Marj enjoyed bowling, tennis, and golf, and was skilled at all three sports with golf being her favorite. She also liked playing cards with women of her golf group and getting together with her “condo cronies” when possible. Marj was also active in her community, volunteering at Covenant (MercyOne Medical Center) in Waterloo and the Waterloo Community Playhouse. Marj leaves behind one sister, Joyce (Dennis) Becker of Jesup, six nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Velda and James Hansen, and one nephew Kurt Hansen. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, is in charge of the arrangements. |
