WATERLOO – Joshua James Ehr, 32 years old, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after being hit by a motor vehicle in the 1100 block of San Marnan Access Drive in Waterloo, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday May 28, 2026, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, IA, with burial at a later date at St. Athanasius Cemetery in Jesup.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup where there will be a parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Memorials will be directed to the Salvation Army and to Dunkerton, IA and Jesup IA, Emergency Management Services.

Josh was born on February 23, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, IA. His parents Steven Patrick Ehr and Deborah Ann (Schuller) Ehr raised him in the catholic faith and that beginning led him to his desire to be religious. He graduated from Union High School, La Porte City, IA, with the class of 2012. Josh was an excellent singer and shared his talent in high school singing the national anthem at school events. He enjoyed making people happy and making new friends. After high school he turned a hobby and his love of music into a career by starting his own Disc Jockey business for a time.

Josh is survived by his parents, Steve & Deb Ehr of Dunkerton, IA; one sister, Melanie Ehr and fiancé Brian Brown of Waterloo; two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Ehr of West Virginia and Andrew Ehr of Dunkerton; also, paternal grandmother, Patricia Ehr of Cedar Falls, IA; and maternal grandmother, Joyce Schuller of Alta, IA. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Schuller; paternal grandfather, Irvin James “Jim” Ehr; and by an aunt and uncle, Brenda (Ehr) and Will Jackson.
