Todd was born June 9, 1964, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Donald Henry and Marie Katherine (Praska) Rosonke. He attended school in Charles City, Iowa, and graduated high school with the class of 1983. He continued his education at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, and earned his diesel mechanic certification. He would later return to Hawkeye and earn his electrical engineering degree.

In 1984 Todd joined the United States Army Reserves and proudly served his country for over 20 years. With the Army he traveled the world helping build roads and schools in El Salvador, Honduras, and Germany. In 2003 he was deployed to Iraq and completed a tour of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 1984 Todd married Tracy Meyer in Charles City. They made their home in Waterloo where Todd worked as a mechanic. They later divorced. Todd returned to Hawkeye Community College and earned his electrical engineering degree all while battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He worked for a short time in Minnesota before moving back to Iowa. After his return from the war in Iraq, Todd married Stacey Stewart in Vinton, Iowa. The couple would later divorce. Todd worked at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as an electrical engineer and made his home on a small acreage outside of Vinton. He enjoyed having a hobby farm where he raised cattle, grew hay and a small crop of corn. It was around this time when Todd met Lori Kimm and her young children Kelsey and Jared. With Lori’s untimely death in 2012, Kelsey and Jared remained an important part of Todd’s life. After some time had passed, Todd met Kelly (Reuter) Schug through a mutual friend. On October 24, 2015, Todd and Kelly were united in marriage at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. They made their home outside of Jesup on a small acreage. Kelly’s daughter Kaitlyn quickly became like a daughter to Todd, and he loved having the fatherly role at home. He beamed with pride at Kaitlyn’s successes.

Todd loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and going to dirt track sprint car races. Todd loved playing with the grandkids in the creek and being outside with the pets. He enjoyed the beauty of wildflowers and loved being around family. He often opened up his home for family get-togethers and holidays. He jumped at the opportunity to be an archery coach – and most of all he loved spending time with Kelly. Todd was a Veterans Administration Commissioner and a member of the Pump-Sheer American Legion Post 342 in Jesup, where he often volunteered on the funeral honor guard. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, where he served on the parish council and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Todd is survived by his wife, Kelly Rosonke of Jesup; his children, Kaitlyn Schug of Jesup, Kelsey Robbins of Vinton, and Jared Kimm of Vinton; six grandchildren; his mother, Marie Rosonke of Charles City; one sister, Tina (Mike) Patterson of Indianola, Iowa; four brothers, Rick Rosonke of Savage, Minnesota, Brian Rosonke of Omaha, Nebraska, Scott Rosonke of Evansville, Wisconsin, Jason Rosonke of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews. Todd is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kathy Reuter of Gilbertville, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jason (Jennifer) Reuter of Jesup; and sister-in-law, Jackie (Brian) White of Independence, Iowa.

Todd is preceded in death by his father, Donald Rosonke; one nephew, Lucas James Brightwell; and his father-in-law, John “Jack” Reuter.
