Rowley – Delores Ida Bearbower, 84 years old, of rural Rowley, Iowa, died on Friday, July 8, 2011, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born on June 24, 1927, in Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Foelske) Kuhlmann. She attended school in Bremer County. On June 19, 1952, she and Merle Albert Bearbower were married in Rochester, Minnesota. He preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Bearbower helped her husband on the farm, gardened, and cared for her family. Her only hobbies were work related. She enjoyed the company of cats and didn’t believe anyone could have too many. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, Iowa.
Mrs. Bearbower is survived by 1 daughter, Beverly (Bruce) Anderson of Vinton, Iowa; 1 son, Albert Bearbower of Rowley, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Kendra Bearbower, Matt Anderson, Holly (Mike) Ollinger, and Lisa (Eric) Marter; and 2 great grandchildren, Eli Ollinger and Addison Ollinger.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, and 1 daughter in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Pastor Kurt Bockoven officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 11th, at the funeral home.
