JESUP – Vernette Rose “ROSIE” Youngblut, 91, formerly of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Cedar Stone Senior Living in Cedar Falls, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Favorite sports attire welcomed “Go Cubs.”

Visitation will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.

Rosie was born, January 7, 1934, in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Frank P. Schaefer and Elizabeth (Hemmer) Schaefer. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Gilbertville, IA, with the class of 1951. On April 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to Richard John Youngblut at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville. Rosie was a homemaker and faithfully cared for her family. She enjoyed sporting events and especially the Chicago Cubs. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Rosie is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Youngblut, Ricky Youngblut, Randall Youngblut all of Jesup, Douglas (Sherrie) Youngblut of Independence, IA; seven daughters, LuAnn (Rodney) Weber of Jesup, Rose (Barr) Christiansen of Jesup, Jeanne (Vincent) Wellman of Raymond, IA, Joan Trebon of Jesup, Shelly (Brad) Curby of Jackson, TN, Sonja (Billy) Novak of Jesup, Vicki (Paul) Schmitt of Kenmore, WA; 28 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Charlene (Chuckie) Youngblut of Jesup; 1 sister-in-law, Joan Youngblut of Cedar Falls, IA. In addition to her husband Richard (in 1993), she was preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandson, Brent Weber; 2 great grandsons, Brent and Bentley Weber; 1 great great-grandson, Beckett Gibbs; daughter-in-law, Cindy Youngblut; 3 brothers, Roger, Henry “Hank”, and Franklin “Pete” Schaefer; and 4 sisters, Jeannette Schaefer, Mildred “Millie” O’Connor, Donalene “Donnie” Butler and LaVonne Weber.
