White Funeral Home Rowley– Peter David Barron, 83 years old, of rural Rowley, Iowa, died on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, following a short illness. He was born on June 24, 1928, in Waterloo, the son of Harold Pete and Edith (Anibal) Barron. He graduated from East High School in Waterloo in 1946 and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He serviced in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict. On May 6, 1951, he and the former Shirley Arlene Carson were married in Rowley, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1999. Mr. Barron farmed in Buchanan County. He was also a Pioneer Hi-Bred International sales representative for 22 years. He never really retired. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and he enjoyed the Iowa casinos. Mr. Barron is survived by 2 daughters, Nikki (Rick) Matthiesen of Independence, Iowa, and Tonia (Kevin Gednalske) Neukirch of Yutan, Nebraska, and 2 sons, Keven (Lori) Barron of Manchester, Iowa, and Chris (Lisa) Barron of Washburn, Iowa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Delpha Barron of Waterloo, Iowa. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Jerry Burrow officiating. Burial will be in the Rowley Cemetery in Rowley, Iowa. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call for visitation from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28th, at the funeral home where a Military Service begins at 7 p.m. |
