INDEPENDENCE – Janet M. Kleitsch, 83 years old, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and formerly of Independence, IA, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Cedar Rapids.

Graveside services will be at a later date at St. John Catholic Church Cemetery in Independence, IA.

Janet was born in rural Independence, IA, the daughter of Lawrence Theodore Kleitsch and Mabel Irene (Wayson) Kleitsch. She attended St. John Catholic School and graduated with the high school Class of 1960. She was formerly a member of St. John Catholic Church in Independence.

Janet is survived by two sisters.
