White Funeral Home LA PORTE CITY - Eugene Joseph Youngblut, 56 years old, of rural La Porte City, IA, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home following a sudden heart attack. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, with burial at the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a parish rosary said at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services, Tuesday, at the church. Eugene was born July 7, 1968, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Donald Peter Youngblut and Linda Lou (Delagardelle) Youngblut. He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1986. He worked for Cedar Falls Construction Co. in Cedar Falls, IA, and Arctic Seal in Jesup, before working for Backes Auctioneers where he learned about sales. He eventually started his own company called Walt’s Equipment where he would buy and sell restaurant equipment. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. Eugene is survived by his mother, Linda Youngblut of Jesup, IA; one sister, Jana (Mike) Johnson of Independence, IA; as well as his two nephews and niece. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald; and two sisters, Leanne Youngblut and Brenda Youngblut. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. |
