INDEPENDENCE – Beatrice Ann (Kuncaitis) Knight, 68 years old, formerly of Independence, IA, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 3, 2025, at St. John Catholic Church, Independence, IA, with burial at the church cemetery. A rosary was said before mass at 10:00 a.m. A light meal was served at the church following the burial.

Beatrice was born June 23, 1956, in Independence, IA, as a twin daughter to John Kuncaitis and Marianne Theodora (Kleinmann) Kuncaitis. She graduated from St. John Catholic High School in Independence with the class of 1975. She continued her education at North Iowa Community College in Mason City, IA. She married Roger Knight in Iowa City, IA, and worked as a healthcare worker at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The couple would later divorce. She was formerly a member of St. John Catholic Church in Independence.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Roger Knight, Jr. of Iowa City, IA, Abigale Knight of Minnesota, and Phillip (Nicole) Knight of Spring Hill, FL; three grandchildren, two sisters, Angelica Kuncaitis of Marion, IA, her twin sister, Maggie Kuncaitis of Independence, IA; one brother, John (Mary) Kuncaitis of Rochester, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one child in infancy; and two sisters, Emma Ona in infancy and Mia Kuncaitis.
