LAMONT –Emily Ruth Sampson, 64 years old, of Lamont, IA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her home following a short illness.

Services will be at a later date at the Stavanger Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ossian, IA.

Emily was born May 21, 1960, the daughter of Clarence Ole Sampson and Donna Marie (Houser) Sampson.

She was a housekeeper at the West Union Care Center in West Union, IA, for many years and a caretaker for her parents as they aged. She was a wonderful cook and when she moved to Lamont, she worked at Casey’s in Manchester, IA, as a donut and pizza cook. Emily enjoyed animals, especially her beloved cats and dogs, and she loved being a member of the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, IA, where she was a past mission board member.

Emily is survived by her cousins, including Leslie Houser and Wesley (Shari) Houser, all of Eagle Grove, IA; and her close friend, Susan Crawford of Lamont, IA.
