INDEPENDENCE – Louis Sherman “Louie” Tudor, 74 years old, of Independence, IA, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids, IA, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. - Friday, January 10, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence, IA, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9th at White Funeral Home, Independence, and continue for an hour before services, Friday, at the church.

Louie was born July 30, 1950, in Manchester, IA, the son of Leonard Eugene Tudor and Frances (Kacer) Tudor. He attended school in Independence and began working at a young age. He ultimately earned his GED and was very proud of the hard work it took to accomplish his goal. Louie’s life was a testament to hard work. In his early years, he began cleaning at the Majestic Tavern and also worked for the Leytze Furniture Store in downtown Independence. He drove for Anderson Erickson and did concrete work for Denny Sprague. Most recently, he worked as a carpenter for Randy Brokaw installing cases for new and existing Hy-Vee grocery stores. He truly was a jack of all trades.

Together for many years, on April 22, 1998, Louie was united in marriage to Sandee Jean Becker in Taneyville, MO. They made their home in Independence and enjoyed 42 years together. Louie loved NASCAR and enjoyed going to different states to watch the races and follow his favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson. He was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and he loved to watch their games and cheer them on. Louie loved to travel with Sandee and often said one of his favorite vacations was a surprise trip to Alaska that took them to the inside passage aboard a ship where they took in many sites of glaciers and were able to take a venture whale watching.

Louie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandee Tudor of Independence, IA; one son, Tim (Elissa) Tudor of Independence, IA; one daughter, Angie Tudor of Waterloo, IA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Chuck (Judy) Tudor of Cedar Rapids, IA; one step-son, David (Susan Neuzil) Ritchie; one step-grandson, one step-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Tudor; and two nephews, Scott Tudor, and Bobbie Tudor.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
