WATERLOO - Travis L. Risse, 46 years old of Waterloo, IA, died Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home of heart disease.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. – Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to th Iowa Heart Association or an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.

Travis was born January 14, 1978, in Waterloo the son of Rodney L. Risse and Renae Koutsy. He graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1996 and then served in the US Marines for 4 years. He also had attended UNI in Cedar Falls when he returned from the service. He was employed at John Deere in Waterloo, and had worked in various departments during his employment there. Travis was proud of his military accomplishments, he loved to hunt deer and had several trophy mounts. He enjoyed traveling and had visited several foreign countries.

Travis is survived by two uncles, Steve (Nancy) Risse of Dysart, IA, Mike (Tammi) Risse of Waterloo; two aunts, Bonnie (Kevin) Landan of Waterloo, Kathy Risse of Denver, IA; also several cousins; and his special pet dog, Lola.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Risse (November 29, 2021); his uncle, Robert Risse (2016); and his grandparents, Kenneth and Carrie (Ritchie) Risse.
