EVANSDALE - H Franklin “Frank” Teel, 84 years old of Evansdale, IA, passed away peacefully with family at his side, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, IA, after being diagnosed seven months ago with bile duct cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery in Jesup, IA. A livestream of the services will be made available on the White Funeral Home & Mt. Hope Cemetery: Iowa, Facebook page.

Visitation will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo from 3:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor's choice in Frank's memory. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.

Frank was born December 1, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Austin Franklin Teel and Marianne (Signorelli) Teel. He graduated from high school in Temple City, CA. On September 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Kerkove at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple City. Frank was employed as a CNC Operator at John Deere in Waterloo for 25 years before his retirement in 2001. He was active in his church and enjoyed being a Eucharistic Minister distributing the eucharist at nursing homes and to the homebound. He was a dedicated Boy Scout leader for many years and received the prestigious St. George Scouting Award. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, traveling, Notre Dame football and most of all his family, children and grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Teel of Evansdale; two sons, Douglas (Brenda) Teel of Anthem, AZ, Don (Lynn) Teel of Holland, MI; two daughters, Lisa (James Harper) Lann of Des Moines, IA, Kris (Chad) Ham of Hudson, IA; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin Teel, Alexis Teel, Sophia Teel, Norah Teel, Connor Ham and Caleb Ham; two brothers, Bob Teel of California, Tim Teel of New Mexico; two sisters, Polly (Larry) Kmetz of Idaho, Cris (John) McMann of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Terry Teel, and his brother Mike Teel.
