RAYMOND - Geralyn Rose Schmaltz, Geri, age 70, passed away September 30, 2024.

Celebration of Life Services will be 5:00 p.m. – Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born on May 9, 1954, to Norbert and Theresa Klein. Geri married Chuck Knebel, later divorcing. Geri married Bob Schmaltz, the love of her life, on September 4, 1999, living her best life for 21 years. Bob died August 22, 2020. Our hearts are full of love and comfort knowing Geri is now reunited with her husband, Bob, in heaven. Although she will be missed dearly, we love the thought of her together with her loved ones, at peace and happy.

Geri’s love, laughter, and sarcasm will continue to bring us joy. If Geri didn’t call you a heifer, she definitely called you a brat. Geri was an amazing cook, talented gardener, and always offered her friends and family a good meal, a jar of salsa, or some amazing jam.

Geri is survived by her son, Jason (Marcie) Knebel of Maquoketa; daughters, Jamie Knebel of Independence, Jodie (Todd) Trebon of St. Cloud, and Aimee Schmaltz of Hudson; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Klein, Robert Klein, Kelly Klein and David Klein; And one sister Dona Klein. Geri is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob.
