White Funeral Home JESUP - Jacob William Knepper, 43 years old of rural Jesup, IA, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 18, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, IA, with burial at Sancta Maria Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. There will be a rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday. Visitation will also be for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorial donations will establish an endowment for Math, Science, Agriculture and Music education in Jake’s name. Online condolences may be placed at www.White-MtHope.com Jake was born May 31, 1981, in Dyersville, IA, the son of Jeffrey John Knepper and Diane Irene (Dietzenbach) Knepper. He graduated from Cascade High School with the class of 1999. He graduated from Central College in Pella, IA, with a BA in math and physics in 2003, and later received a Master’s Degree in physics from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. On October 19, 2002, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nichole Lynne Rottinghaus at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville. Jake led an active life, from his farming activities to also being a math and physics teacher at Bosco Catholic School System in Gilbertville. He was also serving as advisory teacher to the class of 2027. He was a tireless volunteer at school, driving school bus for activities and coordinating the concession stands at sporting events. He had served on the school board and was a past board president. He has served as a Fox Township trustee, was a member of Black Hawk County Corn Growers Assoc. and BHC Pork Producers. He was a co-owner and manager of SwineHaus Pork. Above everything else, Jake was a devoted husband and father who made endless sacrifices to support his family. Jake is survived by his wife, Nichole of rural Jesup, two sons, Joel and Zachary Knepper and two daughters, Rachel and Leah Knepper all at home; his parents, Jeff and Diane Knepper of New Vienna, IA; one sister, Sarah (Jamie) Mormann of New Vienna and his wife’s parents, Keith and Jane Rottinghaus of rural Jesup. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Loras and Mary Knepper; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Louise Dietzenbach; two uncles, Doug and John Knepper and one Aunt, Jane Knepper.
