Independence - Janice Irene Weber, 65 years old, of rural Independence, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, following a short illness. She was born on January 9, 1946, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of L. Ralph and Doris Elaine (Poor) Vargason. She graduated from high school in Maynard, Iowa, with the Class of 1965. On October 17, 1975, she and Thomas Edward Weber were married in Independence, Iowa. Mrs. Weber was a care giver for her family. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence.
Mrs. Weber is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom, and 1 son, Chris Weber of Muscatine, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Nancy Ferrel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence, Iowa. Rev. Joseph Sia will be the Celebrant and Rev. Marty Goetz will be the Concelebrant. Music will be provided by Bonnie O’Brien and the St. John’s Choir. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call for visitation at the White Funeral Home in Independence on Thursday, June 9th, beginning with a Parish Rosary at 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Vigil Service begins at 7:30 p.m.
