Jesup - Randy Eugene VanBrocklin, 62 years old, of Evansdale, IA, died Friday, June 14, 2024, at MercyOne/Waterloo - Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA.

A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Fontana Park in Hazleton, IA, in the west shelter.

Randy was born April 2, 1962, the son of John Dean “Jack” VanBrocklin and Clara Mae (Kisner) VanBrocklin. He attended Jesup, IA, schools. He was a truck driver and most recently worked for Rite Environmental. On July 7, 2007, he married Cheryl Marie Bargfrede in Dunkerton, IA. Randy enjoyed outdoor activities. He was always out riding his Harley-Davidson. When Randy wasn’t riding, he was out camping and kayaking. He loved spending time with his sidekick and loyal K9 companion, Xena. Randy was an avid fisherman. After retiring in September 2023, Randy found his passion and talent in making, hand painting and selling the most vibrant and beautiful fishing lures. Randy was a family man who loved his family dearly and who was loved by many.

Randy is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Evansdale; two sons, Shane (Dalean) VanBrocklin of Jesup, Randy (Jayme) VanBrocklin, Jr. of Independence, IA; one daughter, Trisha (Mauro) Baez of Independence; his step-children, Nydel (Jeanette Collins) Cromwell of Oelwein, IA, Jason (Jenn) Hummel of Mason City, IA, Chantel (Scott) Hall of Hazleton, IA, Maranda Stewart of Mason City; his father, John “Jack” (Helen) VanBrocklin of Oelwein; 11 grandchildren; 11 Step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Kevin (Jennifer) VanBrocklin of Dunkerton, Dean VanBrocklin of Cedar Falls, IA; 2 sisters, Kim (Jeff) Kremer of Quasqueton, IA, Dianna (Randy) Thorp of Walker, IA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara.
