GILBERTVILLE – Ryan Anthony Knight, 44 years old of Cedar Rapids, IA, and formerly of Independence and Gilbertville, IA, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Family graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville.

Ryan was born November 25, 1979, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Oran H. “Howdy” Knight and Linda Lee (Even) Knight.

He grew up in Gilbertville and attended Don Bosco High School.  Ryan had worked as a steel worker and also worked at Serenity Windows and Power Shop.  He also held other general labor positions.

Ryan is survived his mother, Linda Knight; one sister, Sabrina Knight; and his grandfather, Tony Even, all of Gilbertville; also, His daughter, Aspen (Emerald) Tamayo and step-son, Ashton Saldana both of Cedar Rapids.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howdy Knight; paternal grandparents, George and Verna Knight; and maternal grandmother, Ella Even.

White Funeral Home is assisting Ryan’s family with the arrangements.
