JESUP – Constance Marie “Connie” Mahoney, 72 years old of Waterloo, IA, died Saturday December 16, 2023, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Connie was born May 19, 1951, in Waterloo the daughter of Francis Joseph Jasper and Mary Jane (Watters) Jasper.  She spent her formative years in Milwaukee, WI.  The family moved back to Iowa and Connie graduated from Jefferson High School in Independence with the class of 1969 and then went on to graduate from Hawkeye Institute of Technology.  On May 30, 1969, she was united to Edward James Mahoney in Las Vegas, NV.  They lived in Independence and other area communities settling in Waterloo.  They eventually moved to the Tampa, FL, area for a number of years.  Ed preceded her in death on July 24, 2017, and Connie returned to Waterloo in 2019.

Connie is survived by two sons, Robert “Bob” (Becky) Mahoney of Harlan, IA, James “Jim” (Theresa) Mahoney of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Ashley (Jeremy Rockow), Sydnie, Devin, Niall, Quinn; one great-grandson, Sammy Rockow and one on the way; she is also survived by one brother, Daniel (Danyce) Jasper of Dunkerton, IA; and two sisters, Mary (Tony) Schmitt and Kathy Jasper, both of Independence.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Theresa Vaughn.
