Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com Nick was born in Waterloo, IA, on August 12, 1947, to Francis Joseph Weber and Patricia Ann (Breuer) Weber, the eldest of thirteen. He graduated from Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, IA, with the class of 1965. He began work at John Deere in Waterloo that September and retired from there in 1996. His work at John Deere was interrupted when he was drafted and served a tour of duty with the US Army in Vietnam. He loved farming and purchased his own farm in 1971. Nick was united in marriage to Nancy Lou Schares on October 21, 1972, in Jesup. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus and Pump-Scheer American Legion Post #342 in Jesup and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and UAW Local 838 in Waterloo. In addition to farming, he loved restoring old tractors. He could fix anything and was known to take scrap metal and create something, maybe steps for a tractor or a snowflake. He also loved his six grandchildren. Whenever they arrived, all work ceased. He could be found in the crowd cheering them on at softball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, and swimming. He and Nancy enjoyed travel adventures together. There was no such person as a stranger to Nick whose smile was contagious. Nick is survived by his wife, Nancy of Jesup; one son, Christopher (Deedee) Weber of Jesup; two daughters, Andrea (B.J.) Van Der Linden of Ames, IA and Stephanie Weber of Jesup; six grandchildren, Isabel, Malori and Kortni Weber, Lily, Luke and Owen Van Der Linden; six brothers, Frank J. The grandkids describe Papa as hardworking, always positive about every situation, generous with everything especially his time, supportive, passionate, the happiest person we’ve ever met, and we’re so thankful for the time we’ve gotten with the best Papa we could’ve ever asked for!
