JESUP – James H. Thompson, 70 years old, of rural Waterloo, IA, and formerly of Harlan, IA, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at Mercy One Medical Center, Waterloo, IA.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. - Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Cedar Crest Cemetery in Jesup, IA.

Jim was born October 25, 1953, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Harold Arthur Thompson and Demaris Matilda (Bauman) Thompson.  He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1972.  Before retirement, Jim worked as a baker and was employed by Hy-Vee Grocery Stores.

Jim is survived by one sister, Bonnie Strait of Hernando, Fl; and three nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
