INDEPENDENCE –Beverly Marie Krum, 67 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was born in Independence on November 20, 1955, the daughter of Leonard August and Margaret Alfhild (Slater) Roepke. She graduated from high school in Oelwein, Iowa, with the Class of 1974. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence. Bev volunteered at the Independence Area Food Bank. She also delivered newspapers for several different companies.

Bev is survived by 3 sons, Nicholas (Kelli) Krum of Winthrop, Iowa, Allen (Jamie) Krum of Stanley, Iowa, and Nathan (Sara) Krum of Winthrop, 2 brothers, Robert Roepke of Hazleton, Iowa, and John (Cindy) Roepke of Urbandale, Iowa, and 2 sisters, Joani (Daniel) Hall of Waterloo, Iowa, and Judy (Garry) Moore of Independence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister in infancy, Jean Ann Roepke, and 1 granddaughter, Olivea Krum.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence with Rev. Greg DeBoer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on April 24th, at the church.
