INDEPENDENCE – Christine K. Hogan, 55 years old, of rural Independence, IA, died, Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Christine was born March 20, 1967, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Keith Kirby Wilson and Betty Lou (Harn) Wilson.  She graduated from Independence High School and then Hawkeye Tech. in Waterloo, IA. She earned her teaching certificate and was a teacher in the Waterloo School District. On April 15, 1989, she married Douglas Michael Hogan, in Rowley, IA.

Christine is survived by her husband, Douglas Hogan, Sr., of Independence; four sons, Joshua Young, Ryan Young, Douglas Hogan, Jr., and Joseph Hogan; four sisters, Judy Smith, Theresa (Ron) Straw, both of Independence, Grace Mendenhall of Tripoli, IA, Mary Lou (Duane) Ellis of Oelwein, IA; and one brother Jerome (Jean) Wilson of Waterloo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Wilson and John Wilson; also three sisters, Linda Bonefas, Susan Morris, and Ruth Hall.

Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
