She was born on April 29, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of James Truman and Margie Alice (Mary) Downs. She attended St. John’s Catholic School in Independence. On November 13, 1965, she and Thomas Wayne Bellendier were married at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence. He preceded her in death in 2020. Mrs. Bellendier was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She was a care giver. First taking care of her own children and then the children of others. She also was a collector and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Mrs. Bellendier is survived by 1 son, Tom (Brandy McDermottt) Bellendier of Elgin, Iowa, 1 daughter, Tammy Silberstein of Independence, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Jimbo (Wanice Miles) Downs of Loretto, KY, Willie (Debbie) Downs of Independence, and Gary Downs of Louisville, KY, and 3 sisters, Judy (Phil) Clayton of Bardstown, KY, Michelle (David) Turner of Louisville, KY, and Cheryl (Rick) Mattingly of Bardstown, KY. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Terry Bellendier and Tim Bellendier, 1 grandson, Terrynce Bellendier, and 1 brother, Mitchell Downs, in infancy. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Independence. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements. |
