DUNKERTON – Harold R. Sadler, 87 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Thursday January 26, 2023, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, IA.

Harold was born October 12, 1935 on the family farm near Dunkerton, IA, the son of Leonard Sadler and Mary “Mae” (Fettkether) Sadler. He attended Dunkerton High School. Harold farmed and worked at John Deere. He was a member UAW Local #838 and St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay.

Harold is survived by two brothers, Melvin (Theresa) Sadler of Dunkerton, IA, Gerald (Elaine) Sadler of Waterloo, IA; three sisters, Rita Schmitz of Jesup, IA, Judy Starbuck of Waterloo, IA, Donna Nelson of Madrid, IA; two sisters-in-law, Thres Sadler of Fairbank, IA, and Donna Mae Sadler of Fairbank, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Alvin Sadler in infancy, Dean Sadler, Garold Sadler, Raymond Sadler, Erving Sadler, and Edwin Sadler; one sister Mary Sadler in infancy; and one brother-in-law George Schmitz.

Private family services were Monday, January 30, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA.  Burial followed at the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church and the family.
