Jesup – Dorothy Kathryn Harting, 106 years old of La Porte City, IA, and formerly of rural Jesup, IA, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at La Porte City Specialty Care.

She was born November 10, 1916, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert Seemann and Mabel (Schutte) Seemann.  She graduated from Jesup High School in Jesup.  On January 1, 1935, she was united in marriage to Walter Henry Harting at Zion Lutheran Church at Jubilee.  Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had been a member of the Elkets Women’s Club in Waterloo.

Private family services were held with burial at Zion Lutheran – Jubilee Cemetery, rural La Porte City, IA.

Memorials in Dorothy’s name will be directed to Zion Lutheran Church- Jubliee.
