White Funeral Home Dunkerton – Harold Stickfort, 89 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Thursday, January 18, 2018, at UnityPoint Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. - Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Dunkerton Gospel Hall, Dunkerton, IA, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 22nd at the Dunkerton Gospel Hall and will continue for an hour before services Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the family. Mr. Stickfort was born January 29, 1928, on a farm in Grundy County, IA, the son of Ben Stickfort and Alice (Meyer) Stickfort. He attended rural country school near Grundy Center and after moving to Dunkerton in 1939 went to the Dunkerton Consolidated Schools. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served during WWII. On February 16, 1949, he was united in marriage to Grace Marie Lumbus in Waterloo, IA. They have farmed in the Dunkerton area their whole working life and raised their family. Harold was in fellowship with the christians that gather at the Dunkerton Gospel Hall. Mr. Stickfort is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Grace of Dunkerton, IA; one daughter, Becky Brant of Fairbank, IA; three sons, Dennis (Debby) Stickfort of Dunkerton, IA, Duane (Ursula) Stickfort of Oelwein, IA, Danny (Lydia) Stickfort of Dunkerton, IA; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one brother, Delmer (Joyce) Stickfort of Raymond, IA. His parents; one daughter, Carolyn Bley; one grandson, Kyle Naber; one sister, Berneice Zingg; two brothers, Roger and Alvin Stickfort and his son in law, Robert Brant, preceded him in death.
