Jesup – Paul A. Peterson, 83 years old of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at UnityPoint – St. Luke’s Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City, IA. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6^th at White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before servicesThursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Paul Andrew Peterson was born September 2, 1934, in Jesup, the son of Clarence Chris Peterson and Alta Leone (Miles) Peterson. He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1952. On August 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Betty Ann Luloff at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City. Together they ran the Peterson Hardware Store in Jesup. Paul was a member of the Jesup Volunteer Fire Department, the former secretary and treasurer of the Cedar Crest Cemetery Association, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee.

Paul is survived by 1 daughter, Marilyn (Craig) Frush of Jesup, IA; 1 son, David (Jody) Peterson of Jesup, IA; 4 grandchildren, Chad (Staci) Frush of Elk Run Heights, Sarah (Brian) Larson of Jesup, IA, Matthew (Alicia) Peterson of Hudson, Meghan (Justin) Birdnow of McGregor, IA; and 10 great grandchildren, Blake & Kallie Frush, Alissa Wade, Alexis & Alaina Larson, Evelyn, Mackenzie, & Claire Birdnow, and Isaac & Sophie Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty; and sister, Helen Marie Dewey.
