Cedar Falls - Clair Dale Chase, 89 years old of Cedar Falls, IA, and formerly of Dunkerton, IA, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Western Home Martin Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

He was born December 9, 1927, in rural Black Hawk County, IA, the son of Fred Chase and Olive (Adams) Chase.  On February 9, 1952 he was united in marriage to Wanda Louise Miller at the First United Methodist Church in Dunkerton. They made their home in rural Dunkerton, where Clair farmed and was very active in the church. He was a long time Dunkerton First United Methodist Church trustee and also a board member of the Dunkerton Co-Op. After moving to Cedar Falls, Clair became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, IA.

Clair was a friendly neighbor who enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed his many trips to Minnesota with Wanda.

Clair is survived by his wife, Wanda of Cedar Falls, IA; 3 daughters, Nancy (Lance) Anderson of Waverly, IA, Joyce (Tom) Miller of Troy Mills, IA, Janet (Mark) Tuttle of Ankeny, IA; 5 grandchildren, Susan (Kelly) Junge, Michelle Anderson, Heather (Shane) Seevell, Matt Tuttle, Bekah Tuttle; 4 great grandchildren, Anne Junge, Paul Junge, Hannah Seevell, and Ava Seevell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Evelyn Eldridge;  and 2 brothers, Cliff Chase and Harold Chase.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. - Thursday, August 10, at the First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, IA, with Pastor Matt German and Pastor Mark Tuttle officiating. Music will be provided by Doug Shaffer, organist and Tom Miller, flute soloist. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.

Visitation will be  3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, at White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street,  Jesup, IA. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church on Thursday.
