White Funeral Home Jesup – Connie M. Soppe, 51 years old of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. She was born December 24, 1963, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Wendell Paul Erpelding and Nevamae Lois (Beving) Erpelding. She graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1982, and then attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA, for one year. On September 19, 1987, she was united in marriage to Thomas Dean Soppe at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup. Connie had worked as school bus driver for the Jesup Community Schools, also had worked at Farmers State Bank and most recently was working as an Office Specialist at the Black Hawk County Recorder’s office. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup. Connie is survived by her husband Thomas of Jesup; one son, Adam Soppe of Jesup; two daughters, Erica Soppe of Rochester, MN and Amy Soppe of Jesup; also her parents, Wendell and Neva Erpelding of Jesup; two sisters, Brenda (Clyde) Schmit of Jesup and Teresa (Randy) Merkel of Jesup. One brother, Warren Erpelding preceded her in death in 1981. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup and for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
